Tonight we bought chicken kabobs, already spiced with lots of garlic...maybe to hide the smell? we cooked half for our dinner my brother took first bite and gaged, said stay way from that..
I returned to Loblaws sw meat manager, I opened the bag with rubber gloves and advised of situation. He insisted they do not sell tainted meat, i said excuse me, why was this on sale, we sometimes have reduced prices..I said on meat? esp. chicken, you knew it was bad and sold it half price..he kept insisting it wasn't I told him take a bite..Oh I can't now it' s beside the uncooked portion..right, I was a little disturbed that such a company has these policies..he walked away from me...probably to quickly to remove the other same products on sale I returned the meat back at home its in the freezer, if need testing, the girl at cash c/s desk gave me back refund..I don't think this store should be off so easy selling such products when they are bad! esp. a big corporation as that especially trying to make the client at fault and lying. in Oshawa corner Stephenson and Gibb. I had to clean everything in the kichen thoroughly.

I used to work at a Loblaws and other grocery stores, in the meat departments. No matter where you buy your meat, ALWAYS check the expiration date, as well as the condition of the meat. If it does'nt look good, don't buy it! In every grocery store I have worked, the first thing we did every morning was go through all the meats that were in the displays... we took out all expired meats as well as those that don't look fresh. Although in most places I worked with some people who just did'nt care, and when my shift came, all the old meats were still there. When I first started at Loblaws, there was rancid meat hiding in the back of the display, that had been there for I don't know how long... it was green! So it really depends on the people that work there. The 50% off specials (with the big pink triangle stickers), are really at your own discression. Those are meats who are on their last day before becoming expired, and all unsold ones are thrown out the next morning. If it looks ok, just like any other meat, it should be fine... although it should be either cooked or frozen as soon as you get home. Another thing that could have happened, is when customers take an item, and later decide they don't want it, so they leave it lying around wherever... The loblaws I worked for had strict rules about that. Even if it was found in another fridge, we had to throw the meat in the recycle bin.* So it all comes down to the workers again... if they care about what they're doing, and pay attention to details, there's rarely a problem. * The recycle bin... they sell rancid meats to a make-up compagny.

I got food poisoning from a cabbage roll at a Loblaws once (several years ago), because I was ill and couldn't step out of the bathroom long enough for some grossness to seep outta my body so i never went to the hospital. Once I felt better all I wanted to do was rest. The manager looked at me and said, I'll give you a $20 gift card since you didn't go to the hospital. Years went by before I shopped there again. And I still have issues with buying anything at their ready to serve counter.
